Trans Andes Challenge

The TransAndes Challenge is an extreme mountain bike race through the rugged Andes Mountains, in the Chilean Patagonia.

The 2011 TransAndes Challenge was an amazing experience for those who race this amazing mountain bike challenge and for this 2012 will be an unforgettable race because the challenge begins at the beautifull city of Panguipulli and ending in the amazing city of Pucón, throught the best ever singletracks you had riding in your life…!!!..

OUR MAIN GOAL: THAT YOU’LL HAVE THE BEST 6 DAYS OF MOUNTAINBIKE OF YOUR LIFE.

Competition will be held from January 23th until January 28th 2012, with six stages will range from 60 km to 100 km per day. Competitors may do the race in teams of 2 persons or individually.
You can also take the challenge of only 3 days of competition, the Half-Transandes. It's the best way to start if you think you are not yet ready for the challenge of the 6 days of competition.

Registration is open from April 15th, 2011, for teams that are willing to live the fourth edition of this great challenge, competing in one of the world’s most beautiful mountain bike races due to his beautiful landscapes, volcanoes, rivers, ancient trees and other kind of surprises that you’ll able to see along the race. There is a maximum capacity of 250 riders, so we recommend you register early.

History of TransEvents

In 1998 was the first TransAlp Challenge in Europe, where competed two hundred and twenty teams of two riders from eight different countries crossing the European Alps in eight days. The arduous 580-kilometers long route with over 20,000 meters of climbing became the most challenging mountain bike event worldwide.

After a time, was the first annual TransRockies Challenge, that was held in North America in August 2002, thanks to the brilliant idea of Heinrich Albrecht and Chester Fabricius. Both developed this incredible race, where riders can tests themselves, their limits, their determination facing 7 days of competition and over 600 kilometers, with over 12,000 meters of ascent, it remains one of the most awaited race every year.

And now comes to Chile the most incredible epic race in the world, the Trans Andes Challenge
Juan Pablo Santiago, an experienced mountain bike racer in World Cups for over 10 years, started this great event, which has been consolidated year by year and is already one of the world’s most important epic mountain bike races.
This 2012 will hold its 4th version in Chilean Patagonia, in the foothills of the beautiful and stunning Andes Mountains, from January 23th till January 28th, 2012, with 6 stages with beautiful sceneries, circulating in the vicinity of 6 volcanoes and more than 10 lakes.You can ride trails that have never been used by bicycles and are almost untouched in our wonderful Chilean Patagonia

The stages will have 60 to 100 kilometers each one, where riders can run as well as experts and amateurs, where the race rhythm not need to be at the 1st level.
